Term 1

This course will focus on developing the student’s ability to communicate in a university environment. Students will develop skills and strategies to plan and write academically. This will include analyzing assignment tasks, learning how to structure academic arguments, writing research papers, position papers, and case studies. Students will also work on developing critical thinking skills and will learn how to find, evaluate, read, synthesize, and reference academic sources. Students will develop professional skills and will learn how to use select tools and effective approaches, including how to effectively present complex concepts and complex data.
