This course, Cellular Biology, focuses on the study of the fundamental unit of life, the cells. It will provide an in-depth study of cell structures and functions, structure and functions of the organelles, its basic genetic mechanisms, its internal organization and its social context. The course will also examine cellular basis of human diseases. Students will develop analytical and critical skills to understand the principal and processes of cells through lectures, practical and research activities.

This course, Plant Biology, focuses on the study of kingdom of plants. The topics include the evolution of the major groups, a comparative analysis of the form (anatomy), function (physiology), and life history of the plant kingdom. A detailed study on the structure, reproductive and physiological adaptations of the angiosperms and plant diseases will also be covered. Students will gain an extensive knowledge and skills in this course through lecturers, field trips and practical activities.
