Hi, I’m Lynette Tamata, and I will be your course tutor for EDMP412: School Management this semester.
This course focuses on school management and aims to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to manage schools effectively. It begins by providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the history of education in Vanuatu before Independence, highlighting how this history has shaped the current education system. Students will then explore the development and nationalisation of the education system from 1980 to the present, as well as the basic principles and functions of the current system.
This foundation will enable students to develop strategies for managing schools, with a focus on good governance, effective management of school offices and personnel, resource allocation, teaching and learning, school effectiveness, and building partnerships with communities.
Throughout the course, students will have opportunities to explore, examine, observe, and research the key principles and practices of school management within the Vanuatu context.
The Moodle page will be updated weekly with lecture materials, readings, announcements, and assessment information. You are encouraged to check the course page regularly to remain informed and engaged.
